Recipe for easy cheap 15mm DBA Camp Element

Based on Fanticus Eye Candy Earthwork Pallisade Camps #10 and #11.

Take a 40mm x 80mm Litko plywood base and apply your favorite magnetic backing material.

Mix up some 'spackle' – this is a cheap generic white drywall repair and cement compound found almost anywhere.

Chop up some wooden skewers or toothpicks to be your defensive stakes for your pallisades.

After sculpting the spackle and stakes into a defensive formation, let dry.

Prime it with thinned Liquitex Dark Umber, which soaks in a bit.

Seal it up with my favorite 'miracle DIP/Wash' mixture based on Minwax Clear Poly-Acrylic and Liquitex Black. This is the stuff I treat all my finished figs with. It soaks in and seals up the spackle very well, making it tougher and giving it a nice 'please touch me' finish like a fine durable resin casting!

Dry-brush it a little to give the stakes some wood color and to bring out the details of the 'mud'. Finish it up with a little green flocking around the edges and Dullcoat the whole thing. Very easy and quite nice looking! Spruce it up with a dog or some baggage bits like barrels or crates!

Applies to armies of zillion different periods, especially armies that diced to be 'the aggressor' and is on the move!

Enjoy!
