View Full Version : Playtesting Italians

I had a couple of DBA 3.0 games at the FBC wargames weekend, using my Communal Italians and Papal Italians. I only wish I'd got to try capturing a BUA with my Communal Italian carroccio - I was sorely tempted.

Just few question:
- did you get into CC in how many turns? Three?
- did you got space/time do some kind of manouvere? It seems - judging by the pics - you both go quite straight forward.
It's not - in any way - a critic to you skills, I just would like to understand if the narrow deployment space will reduce the time to do some "tricks" and if first un/correct elements positioning will become crucial.
PS: did you will try Papal or Communal vs. Med.German? Hd, will be so durable?

We deployed a little bit apart so it took until the attacker's second bound for combat to take place. So you don't have much time at all for pre battle manouevre. I suspect that many games will start with a good deal of movement out to the sides, as people struggle to widen their deployments.

this is what I'm thinking too.
I've not understand so far if this will be a "plus" or a "minus" of 3.0 but...
thank you for your reply.
