I've given up on finding a rearing elephant for a Sassanian hott army so I ended up making one. this is a viking forge Turkish elephant, I cut off the back heels and attached to the base with supper glue then reinforced it with epoxy. We'll see how well it hold up to being handled:

He looks a tad stiff, Paul. Dual purpose some dead bodies under the front legs. Lends to the effect and adds some support. :D

I've considered something along that line Frank, If I can get away without the support I try it that way. here are two more shots of the elephant. I've tried to position the driver and crew as if they are leaning forward:

Should look very nice when done. Consider drilling into feet through base and inserting pins for extra strength.

Good idea, Bob.

I am a fan of those Viking Forge (old Asgard?) elephants.

It looks really good from the left side--the bent front leg gives it the dynamic feel that you need.

Hi there

I think Irregular does a rearing elephant, perhaps listed as a circus elephant.

I started painting the elli today. I've got a couple of those huge black raven foundry Mammoths on the way, i'll play around with seeing how I can make them fit on 40x40mm base, perhaps by rearing:
