Hi!

I'm in the process of building up a II/11 Gallic army, based around the battle of Sabis at 57BC and I'd like some information around the colors of the clothes of the Gallic Belgae tribes of Nervii, Viromandui, Atrebates and Aduatuci. Any information is very appreciated! :)

(And yes, I know the Gauls got their asses kicked by the Romans in that fight, but boy was it a good fight! :D)

Caesar didn't mention anything noteworthy about their fashion palette. That's about it for written source material, so you're free to choose a selection of colours and patterns that say to you: "Horum omnium fortissimi sunt Belgae"

Phil Barker (The Armies and Enemies of Imperial Rome) "scarlet, blue and black being favourite colours. Tunics were sometimes bright yellow, but other favourite colours for tunics and trousers were purple, scarlet and brown... a good proportion [of warband infantry wore] undyed natural wool or linen".

Hope this helps!
