While reorganizing my DBM sized armies to multiple DBA command armies I have ended up with twenty extra elements that have all found new lists or are optional choices with the exception of 5x2LH and 1xEL, which are both Sassanian.

Any suggestions as to which army list they could be used for, that does not involve a lot of conversion time would be welcome. My first impression would be to file the round hat down but to what shape? The elephant has a howdah.

Thanks,

Sadly, Sassanian LH don't look much like anything else. Sure, you can file down the hat, but is it really worth the work? 15mm lead isn't that expensive.

The Sassanian El might be worth the work -- you can use that El for several other lists like Ghaznavid; just file down any helmets to a standard conical Arabic helmet shape.

David,

The Sassanian LH are OG15s and are equipped with javelin, shield and a bow quiver. Pants are baggy with a tunic of mid-thigh length. 5 elements is the right number for Dynastic Bedouin or perhaps a LH from a Central Asian Turkish tribe. I would like to see if they can be used for Khorisanian or Samanid LH.

Ghaznavid Elephant? That could work, however, I thought the crew rode bare backed and not in a howdah? How about the Samanid elephant?

cheers,
Robert
