I posted this over in "Rants and Raves" but it occurs to me that this might be a better place...again please excuse any dumb questions as I am fairly new to BBDBA. It would appear if I were playing three IV/73 Ming Chinese that I would have six (!) artillery elements. My questions are these:
1) Can I have six artillery elements in BBDBA? and
2) If so, can I mass them in a Napoleonic-style "Grand Battery" in the center of the field?
Thanks,
Bill Brown

Assuming that you don't have an ally...
1) You must have six Art, as they are not optional.
2) You can allocate them to the three commands as you see fit, 1/1/4, 0/0/6, 1/2/3, 2/2/2, etc.

The Long Island Bostwicks will participate as usual, although we have absolutely no idea what we will bring as of yet. I believe that debate will be settled tonight, with our fists.

Greek Alex will be coming, but he doesn't have a partner yet, despite my urging for him to post that fact here. So, I'm posting it for him, and he doesn't have a say in the matter anymore.

It's up to you and your partner to decide how to split the commands. If you are running a double army with ally, I would suggest one player run the ally and the other run the double. Or each run a command and split the third.... alternate between rounds. Lots of ways you can do it. You should try it, lots of fun.

Would you like me to help you find a partner Andy?

I have plenty of shopping time during bbdba doubles. Then again, that may only be because I lose quickly... I'm not sure these incentives are set up correctly. I should try winning quickly instead.

You should never give me the opportunity to pick a catchy name...

OR

You should make sure you distinguish which David you are referencing :)

Might you and David K. kindly let us know what army you are using ahead of time so that the other 7 teams can strategize, theorize and playtest against it, please....

I assume by Philaphile that you mean people who like Philadelphia? You're not confusing me with Bob, or his dog-more likely.

At least you didn't give us a nickname with cialxx or viaxxx in it. Don't worry, in another 10 years you'll be there also....

Probably not, as we don't know 100% right now if we can go with Plan A or Plan B. Plan A involves DK painting most of a DBA army in the next 3-4 days.
And we don't know what Plan B is at this point...

No, Philadelphia is the home of the Flyers... and I don't like them.

Excellent! That's almost an historical opponent for our guys, we can face you in the first round! After meeting our triple Sarmatians on a pool table, you'll have lots of time for shopping.

We'll either do that or bring a more competative army like Incas or something.............

Too bad there is a lack of vendors in 15mm Ancients/Medievals/Renaissance at Historicon 2011. There are about 8 or so less than there were 5 years ago. :(

Old Glory and Wargames are a big loss. At least Wargames is selling their instock Essex at 50% off now.
