Check out Steven's "Mapless Campaign" system for DBA and other rule sets. The concept is that campaigns using map movement tend to peter out since they take multiple settings and not everyone may get to play every round. This system treats the territory as assets that can be acquired...and which give advantages in terms of reinforcements, deployment advantages, or manuevers (e.g. flank marches). For each battle,..you select three territory cards....win the battle you get to pick one of your opponents territories in play or select a randomly generated one. The more territories you control...the more options you have...but you can only select three to use in each battle. so the tide can always turn depending on the outcome.
