Looking at the army list revisions, it appears this is a moot question, but is there any chance of getting more flexibility on which elements are designated the general?
It is bothersome to have armies with 2Cv elements that historically deployed with infantry in the center and cav on the wings when one of the Cv is designated as a general.
In such cases, it makes more sense to let an infantry element be classed as general.
The argument against this is that the historical general was mounted during the battle, but in the case of Polybian Romans, his escort would have been much smaller than a full DBA element.
Why not designate - by rule or by list - what kinds of elements can have a general and not then pre-designate for the players?
As I said, I assume this ship has sailed, but I'm late to the dock and wanted to at least make an attempt to bring it up - and see if anyone has raised it with Sue/Phil already.
