I am currently painting some medieval German armies. I would like to paint elements of Kn to represent each elector for the Imperial Diet for future campaigns. The list includes those after 1356: Archbishops of Mainz, Trier and Cologne; Herzog of Saxony, Markgraf of Bradenberg, King of Bohemia and Count Palatine. The last elector (Count Palantine), I am having a hard time trying to figure out the area that he would control. A coat of arms for Ruprecht Pipan, Count Palantine at Nicopolis has the Palatinate arms quartered with those of Bavaria. In later histories (Napoleonic era), I have noticed Bavarian flags with Palantine devices on them (or similar images). What is the the relationship between the Count Palantine and Bavaria in the 14th century? Also, what would it's capital city be (possibly Munich if Bavaria)? Or are the arms of Pipan's just a link to the Wittelbachs? Thanks for any help on the subject in advance.

Cheers,
Darren
