what colour is cloth (quilted armour)? i have an isleman army and i cant decide what color to paint the clothe armor . any suggestion or hints would help.

Off white. There are lots of exceptions, of course, but the most common colour for gambesons, quilted jacks, aketons, and other types of quilted armour in the 15th century was undyed canvas (or similar sturdy cloth), and would be off white. Note that there are lots of exceptions -- the gambeson of Charles de Bloise that survives from the late 14th century is bright red, and cloth armours in manuscripts of the 13th through 15th centuries come in all colours (see, for example, illustrations in the Masciejowski Bible).

Then, of course, there's the whole question of how long it would stay that color (battle is no respecter of fastidiousness)! tongue.gif
