View Full Version : Basing the confused general?

I just picked up a copy of the confused general figure and I am trying to decide how to base it. I'm curious as to what others have done with it.

I was thinking of pairing it with a wolf/dog that came in a town pack long ago and that I have never found a use for. The two can go on a foot base to be used as a "camp follower" element for my Romans. Another idea is to put it alongside a riderless horse and two mounted figures, as if he dismounted to wrestle with the scroll (but the element would still be used as a mounted general).

-Chris Pagano Hi Chris,

I have used the confused general as part of my DBM baggage for my hoplite army. In effect I have a 2 pack mules being led by a handler and a women with an urn on her head all passing the CG. So the scene is the CG acting as the quartermaster checking off supplies as they go past him. I hope to get some images done when I get my new digicam.

Regards,

Greg

I am going to use mine as the handle for my ZOC marker- you know, a little 40mmx40mm square for showing where an element's ZOC is. Having a single figure in the middle of the square will make it easier to place and pick up without bumping the elements.

That way he is both useful and may be brought to every game!

Barker marker - an essential tool for every DBAer.
And the General is positively guaranteed to provide a positive enhancement to your combat die rolls - unfortunately due to his obvious state of mild confusion...not to your PIP rolls...

I think I'll flock the square so it matches my armies, but I'll use cardstock rather than my usual metal bases so that it doesn't damage figures that it might bump into.

Now what do I do with the wolf?

Thanks,

Stick him on with the general, so he can howl over your poor pip-rolls ;)

We have one sitting on our mantelpiece as part of a Trophy from the HOTT tournament at Berkeley this year. See http://www.sebastian.rogers.btinternet.co.uk/gallery/trophy/index.html for pictures (note the pictures are quite large...)
