After looking at the pics again, I'm starting to think I like a more basic green grass cover flocking for the bases. When you wind up playing on a greenish board the green flocking makes the color of the figures stand out better.
I think I've overcomplicated the base decoration at this point.

You have a knack of over complicating things, though. :)

it is an Essex figure in their MOG historical range. Great figure, I have one that has been used for many different situations.
