Suitable for DBA armies 82, 75a, 75b (also good for 77a, 74, 81).
15mm ROMANO/BRITISH - 420ad to 680ad (Arthurian)
ROB1 Shield Wall, Spear &Sword - a good mix of figures, mostly with detached spears and shields. Armour ranges from chainmail hauberk & late Roman helmet, through leather cuirasses, to completely unarmoured figures.
ROB2 Archers - 2 poses both in tunic and trousers - one firing and one drawing an arrow from a quiver at his hip. Both good, but maybe a little skinny?
ROB3 Light Cavalry - 2 poses. Probably the best unarmoured Dark Ages cavalry I've seen (including the horses). Detached spears and shields again.
ROB4 Heavy Cavalry - 2 poses - one has detached spear and shield, the other has a sword moulded on and a detached shield. Both wear late Roman helmets and chainmail cuirasses. Good horses again - some wearing mail coats.
ROBC1 Foot Command - Chief, Champion, Priest, Druid, 2xStd. A great pack! The chieftain is very "late Roman" in appearance, pointing and holding a sword; the champion is a big, brutish looking bloke with a helmet, scale cuirass and (detached) shield. The priest is running forwards, brandishing a wooden cross, whilst the "Druid" stands arms spread wide, praying to his gods (he also makes a fine christian priest, if you prefer). The 2 standard bearers are unarmoured, and come with detached standards - one windsock and one square flag.
ROBC2 Mounted Command - Chief, 2xStd. Quite like the Heavy Cavalry, but with plumes. Standards as above.
15mm EARLY SAXONS - 420ad to 680ad
SAX1 Shield Wall - various poses/shields/weapons - a good mix of warriors with detached shields, and a mix of axes, swords and (detached) spears. Less well armoured than the Britons, but both mix in well together.
SAX2 Archers - 2 poses - no review, sorry!
SAXC1 Foot Command - Chieftain/Champion/Std Bearer/Drummer/Shaman/Dog Handler - The chieftain stands barking orders, with his hands on his hips; his champion looks more than a match for (and of similar build to) his British counterpart. The standard bearer has a boar-crested square flag cast on him, and the unarmed dog handler also comes as a one piece casting (the dog looks like a wolfhound). The drummer is crouching beating a hollow log, and the loincloth-clad shaman is whirling on one foot, mid-spellcast!
SAXC2 Mounted Command - 2 x Chieftains/Std Bearer - smaller horses than the Britons, but the command group are nice figures, complete with a cattle-skull mounted on the standard. Heavily armoured and armed with detachable shields and spears again.
GENERAL NOTES: Highly compatible with Essex foot and cavalry. Well worth it - very cheap, a good mix of figures, and accurately designed. But if you don't like gluing on shields & spears, you may have a problem. The foot commands are amongst the best I've seen.
I was planning to send in a review of Outpost Sub Romans, but Dan Mersey beat me to it. I would concur with everything he said in his review, and add that the figures have good detail, and minimal flash, so pre-prime prep is minimal. I bought a Sub Roman DBA army, and found them excellent value, even considering the cost of postage from UK to Canada. As well, Ellis Alden from Outpost provides prompt, helpful service. This is a good place to deal with.

Just got a shipment of Outpost Sub Romans and Saxons from Brookhurst. Very nice figures, little flash, well sculpted, size mixes with Minifig and some Essex. Foot command packs well done; Saxon has a war dog and handler. Sub Romans could be used for all later Romans 350-500. Price $1.98 for 8 figs. $2.50 for 6 command/4 cav. All bags had a mix of figures.
