Reviews of Minifigs Miniatures

Ray Rangel on new Alexandrian Macedonians

MiniFigs is reworking their ancients lines and the first range of new, true 15mm figures is the Alexandrian Macedonians. Ray Rangel has scanned in the figures contained in his DBA army pack along with a review.

Brent Sustaita on Minifigs

At one time they were inexpensive and plentiful in my area. I still do like the Greek hoplite figs, Norman and Saxon foot, Persian LC and the Scythian horse archers. These figures are also on the small side, but 15mm accurate, and historically accurate. I avoid Minifigs anymore. They do not have the folds in the clothing and deep definition that I like in many figs. But I must admit, there are some painters that really prefer this type of figure. It gives them more of a "blank canvas" to really show off their skill in making designs on clothing or creating their own illusion on a figure. So even though I am not a Minifig fan, some of the best painted figures I have seen are Minifigs for just the reason I have mentioned. I do think their horses are very well proportioned, and their small size makes them visually appealing for LC/LH next to the larger horse figures of HC I own. Usually one or two poses in a pack of figs of twenty four inf (two poses), twenty five inf (one pose), or Eight cav. commands were less but I cannot remember just what.

Paul Harrison on Minifigs

Infantry are OK if mixed with other types. I don't like (old) Minifig mounted.
