DBA War Wagons and Litters
Khagen Wagon

By Paul A. Hannah, Seattle.
A 15mm WWg (Gen) element for a III/16 Khazar army. The Khagen is seen
here, in his "KhagenWagen", holding his silver disk standard, and
with his pet wolfhound by his side. In the second pic, his mistresscan be
seen reclining on pillows in the back of the wagon. Spearmen and archers of the
Khazar Royal Guard surround the Wagon. All figures and horses are old Mikes
Models, except for the Khagen and the modified wagon, which are both Essex.
(Borzoi and mistress, unknown.).

For more info on the Khazars, see the following links:,
check out the Khazar army notes and the
Khazaria website. It is a
matter of conjecture whether
or not the Khazars used the "Magen David" (Star of David) as a national
symbol, but there is just enough archeological evidence to suggest it was
possible, so I obviously used it extensively in this command element.
