Anglo-Norman Wooden Keep

By Doug
Hamm. Here is my camp for the Anglo-Normans (DBA IV/3) representing one of
the early wooden keeps on a lime-covered hillock. The hill approach was
covered in hardened lime as to make footing difficult, and
to aid visibility during any night attack (the Saxons showing dark against
the lightened slope). Construction was by card, some balsa strips but most
of the architecture was created by paint only.
I did not go for the whole Motte and Bailey fortification; that will have to
wait for a larger base!
