DBA Camp Elements
Sheep Raid

By Mike Demana. What better reason to go to war than
sheep?! In this 40x80mm DBA camp, two Celtic style warriors (15mm Old Glory)
hustle a flock of sheep (Falcon UK) along through a pass in the hills. The
warriors have either tartan or striped tunics and colorful shields. This camp
can be used with a multitude of armies, from Ancient British or Scots-Irish,
through Pictish, Welsh, Scottish, Gallic, Norse-Irish -- you name it! Just about
any army with a "Celtic" accent would be proud to own these sheep.
The hill slopes were built up using stepped layers of
successively smaller craft foam on a base of styrene plastic. Then they were
overlayed with Liquitex modeling paste, which smoothed out the "steps", but
keeps an irregular surface. Then they were flocked with a Woodland Scenics
blend, and random pieces of larger flocking were glued down on top of it for
scrub. Modeling Tip: If you have trees whose greenery are some type of flocking,
save the bits that fall off of them from time to time. These make excellent
scrub when glued down onto the surface of a camp or whatever.
