DBA at
LEVIATHAN 2008
The
Leviathan DBA Comp went off well and everyone had a great time.
To those who were there thank you very much for coming.
The Winner was John Geer who zoomed way out in front in the points and played
very well all day.
Second Place went to Steve Hopkins who was a contender but in a unseen upset
was piped by the last placed player in the final round. Very unlucky.
Third Place went to Martin Stewart. who's chariots where good to see on a battle
field usually full of knight armies.
Fourth Place went to Mikey Richardson who did extremely well with a Japanese
Blade Army in
mostly very open pre set-terrain. (Especially as he is only 8 years old)
Special mention also to John Thompson for his good performance and good
sportsmanship
but unlucky dice as he also was in the race as a main contender till the last
round.
Thanks also to all the others who played on the day which made it a great
tournament
and all the others that could not play all day but had friendly games with the
Ref who was dying to play.
Prizes:
Everyone who played won a DBA Army from
www.ssau.net and Caesar Miniatures.
John G. Won first prize a very large engraved Champions Beer Glass (like a 21st
style tall glass) , very nice and a big bag of prize vouchers.
John H. won Second prize a very nice runners up engraved Beer Mug. (German
style) , which was also very nice and a bag of vouchers.
Martin S. won Third prize, a Strategic Simulations Super DBA Ruler/Gauge, which
he didn't pick up so can he please contact them so they can send it to him.
Mickey Richardson (8yrs old) who got the Encouragement Award, a voucher from
Napoleons Bookshop.
Congratulations to Mikey for such a good showing he was even in First place
until round 5. Great effort for an 8 year old
and it would be great to see more young kids getting into our sport.
Thanks again to everyone who played on the day.
yours
Michael

ACT/NSW DBA Champtionship
The 3rd ACT/NSW DBA Championships will be held on 29 June 2008 (11:00 a.m.)
at the Manuka Services Club.
The tournament has been moved forward from August to June to take advantage
of the absence of any DBA competitions between May (David Lawrence's DBA with a
Twist tournament) and August (Stephen Webb's DBA Historical Pairs competition).
Venue will be the Manuka Services Club (same as Landwaster).
There will be no restrictions on which DBA armies can be used, but
dismounting will be limited to deployment and BUAs will count as bad going -
otherwise the rules will be as per DBA 2.2.
