The following slate of NASAMW-sponsored DBA and HOTT events will be held during the HMGS-East's Cold Wars Convention, on 7-9 March 2007 at the Lancaster Host in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.  Check the Fanaticus Forum for schedule updates.
 

Thursday, 6 March

8:00 - 12:00 p.m. Horde Wars Theme Tourney

Players:  Unlimited.
Format:  modified Swiss chess.
Scale: 15mm
Rounds:  4
Boards:  24" square

A special event for early convention arrivers.  Eligible armies must have at least one Horde element. Bring boards and terrain.  Scoring: standard NASAMW system with theme specific changes.
 

Friday, 7 March

10 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. Big Battle Doubles

Players:  Unlimited
Format:  Group round robin with final match.
Scale: 15mm

Pairs of players in Big Battle games. Players bring own armies and terrain.  Regular rules as modified by NASAMW BBDBA rules and scoring.
 

7:00 - 11:00 p.m. Matched Pairs Tourney

Players:  Unlimited
Format:  Group round robin with final match.
Scale: Any
Rounds:  4
Boards: Standard, based on scale.
GM:  Rob Torres

Each player brings a pair of armies that are listed as enemies. Each game one player provides the two armies and the other picks which one to use. The pair can be any scale mounted appropriately so players can offer 25mm, 15mm, 10mm, 6mm. Players use own armies twice and those of opponents twice.

1200 BC - From Greece to Egypt, the social and political system of the Bronze Age collapsed. Amid war and chaos, the great palaces of the ancient Greek kings and the strong fortress of Troy were destroyed. Hittite rule in Asia Minor was ended forever, and the Hittites disappeared from history. Destruction visited the cities of Cyprus and Syria. A mysterious group, the Peoples of the Sea, were abroad on the seas, and Egypt fought against them for its very existence. Players must pre-register on the Fanaticus Forum for selected armies.

Players:  Unlimited (teams of 4 players)

Initial team pairings will be decided at random. Subsequent rounds will be based on team point totals.

Teams may be DBA Clubs, from Geographical Regions, Friends, Family, Enemies, Old fat bald guys, etc. etc. Teams consist of 4 players, with a designated Team Captain to handle team decisions, report scores, and generally keep each team organized. Each Team Captain assigns a team player to play with an army from each Book (1-4) throughout the event and play against that same Book's opponents. All army options must be chosen prior to beginning of the Cup, and the Team Captain is responsible for submitting an official list of armies and options to the Game Master prior to the start of the event.  Pick-up teams will be formed at the time of the event from for players without a pre-established team.

Prizes awarded for the winning team, for Best Team Uniform, for Best Team Cheer, for Best Team Spirit.
