15mm DBA Theme Tournament 7 March 2003 A North
American Society of Ancient and Medieval Wargaming (NASAMW) event Before Columbus, Cortes and Pizzaro, the Americas were home to a number of sophisticated civilizations ranging from the Aztecs and Mayans of Mesoamerica to the Incas of South America and the Pueblo and Mound-Builder Cultures of North America. This special theme tournament was designed to raise interest in a region often overlooked by ancient/medieval wargamers and to give these armies their due.
Final Results
* David Zecchini and Jon Baldin completed regular play tied at 53 points apiece and played a hard-fought sudden death playoff to determine the tournament champion. The Armies of the Americas tournament was run in four rounds in a "Swiss Chess" draw format using points to determine placement. Armies were restricted to Pre-Columbian lists that were North, Central or South American in origin. No Spanish, Portuguese, Viking, or Welsh were allowed.
