Usborn Cut-Out Models

The Usborn range of cut-out historical models is designed for 9-12 year old kids as learning projects, but are nicely detailed, scaled for 15mm figures, and can make for some interesting DBA camps and built-up-areas.

Chris Jones: I recently bought a number of Usborne Cut-out Card Models which may be of interest to visitors to the site. The ones I bought were Medieval Castle, Roman Villa, Viking Settlement and Medieval Village - they also do a Medieval Town , Port and Cathedral, a Roman Fort, an Egyptian Temple and a Greek Temple. They are scaled to OO/HO which makes them compatible with 20mm plastics and not far off 25mm. The complete models are too large for use in DBA but the Medieval Village and Viking Settlement include individual buildings which could be used in isolation and will be appearing soon in BUA / Camp models. Even the castle Keep could be utilised on its own as could the towers. I include a photo of the completed Medieval castle (made by my wife in a few sittings) with some 20mm plastics for scale (O.K. they are Republican Romans).
