Robert Robel's
Marian Romans
(DBA II/49)

Comprised of Corvus Belli figures. The Legionaries are Corvus Early Imperial Legionaries in chain mail. I contacted Fernando the sculptor and asked if he happened to have praetorian shields. He did (designed for use with the Libyan infantry in captured Roman armor) and sent them to me for free. They are not perfect since the Marians probably did not have the groin protector, but the shields cover much of them. The neck guard on the helmets also does not look right, but if you really wanted to go all out you might be able to file them to a curve. Just changing the shields was good enough for me.
