Arrayed to subject the Russians
at the battle of Lake Peipus.
15mm figures. German horse is mostly Essex, with some Minifig. Foot is a mix of Essex, Jacobite and a few Mikes Models. Extra spearmen figures were added to the 4Sp and 4CB stands to simulate the look seen in the movie. In selecting figures, I did a fair amount of fudging to get a compromise among these disparate factors-- what troop-types actually appeared (the scholarly order-of-battle), what the movie portrayed (Eisenstein's OOB), what the DBA list allowed (Barker's OOB), and what the figure-mix offered (Essex's OOB). The German camp borrows unabashedly from Jeff Barnes' Teutonic Orders camp. Note the clear "Ice Dice."
