Paul Hannah's
Inupiat (IV/11)

Here are pictures of my Inupiat Eskimo army, comprised of 15mm MY Miniatures painted and photographed by Paul Hannah of Seattle. The army is modelled after the native Arctic tribe of Alaska's North Slope. For DBA purposes, I consider it a REALLY North-Western American (DBA IV/11) army.  The army was photographed two weeks ago (12 Feb. 2005), on location and quite literally ON the Arctic Ocean at Barrow, Alaska. It was a bit "chilly" at the time of the photo-op (-13F / -25C, with a -35F / -37C windchill).

As an aside, unlike other native peoples of the North American Arctic (such as the Inuit people of northern Canada), the Inupiats do not consider the term "Eskimo" to be offensive. In fact, it appears often in the names of native-owned businesses in Barrow, Alaska, and the Inupiat people appear to use "Inupiat" and "Eskimo" interchangeably.
