The biggest change to the army list from my Early Polish (a) army is that I have used crossbows instead of bows. During “Rozbicie Dzielnicowe” (in XIII Poland was divided into districts ruled by King Boleslaw Krzywousty's sons) the Polish army developed. Cavalry was no longer a supporting unit. Mounted feudal lords become the core of the army. Tarczownicy – basic foot soldiers – were still in use. Crossbow (samostrzał) was first used in Poland in 1109 during the siege of Glogow and afterwards become as popular as the bow.
