Greg Kelleher's
SYRACUSANS (410-210 BC) (DBA
II/9)
Here are images of my DBA Syracusan army, which I am likely to
take to
MOAB 2005. It depicts Agathokles' army assembled for the invasion
of Carthaginian territory. All of the figures are by Xyston.

Agathokles (Sp/Gen or Cv/Gen)

Syracusan Hoplites (4Sp)
The backbone of the Syracusan army.

Syracusan Horse (3Cv)
Every hoplite army needs some cavalry.

Tarantines (2Lh)
I couldn’t wait for Xyston to bring out their Tarantines
so I used their Paionian Cavalry pack instead.

Skirmishers (2Ps)
The ever useful Psiloi.

Archimedes’ Death Ray (Art)
This is a tongue firmly in cheek
rendering of the Syracusan artillery. It is
meant to represent the Archimedean "death ray". I know
that it is an anachronism but I couldn't help myself. This element will
form part of the baggage for my DBM Syracusan
army.
