This is the army of the pre-feudal Irish mixed with that of the Norse occupants of Ireland, including such legendary figures as Brian Boru, Murrough, Mael Morda, Sygtrygg and others. In their struggles for recognition as High King, the Irish claimants fought with and against each other, taking assimilated Norse (Ostmen) and Vikings as allies and enemies in turn.
