In addition Baxter and Nancy had many friends come by and several showed great interest in one of the DBA games (a real slugfest between David Crenshaw's feudal English against my feudal French. Nov. 10-19: Keep an eye out for Mike Porter's after action reports from Fall-In at his The DBA Gamer blogspace. My in-box was empty, so I broke out the trusty digital camera and took pictures of some of my favorite camps and BUAs. First up is Mediolanum (Milan), a late Roman BUA I scratch-built for a Gothic Wars campaign game, which now resides in the collection of Jeff Caruso. In a forum post a few days back, I mentioned my generic Middle-Eastern Bastion, which is probably the most-used camp in my collection, being pressed into service for armies ranging from Hittites to Crusaders. For at least two years, I pondered a way to use a Great Wall of China scrapbooking accessory in a camp, and then one day Jeff Caruso suggested we enter an all-mounted Khitan-Liao army in a Big Battle tourney...and hence this Khitan-Liao camp was born. A footnote on Moldavian warfare inspired this take on a log barricade camp done by David Kuijt to go with my Moldavian army. Marco Campagna of MiniatureWars.Com figures is finishing up a new range of 15mm Vikings. Bryan of At 50 Paces has posted these notes at TMP and some promo shots.
